Field Service Engineer (Hemlock, MI)
\n30% or less travel, local travel. Contract to  Hire.
\n
\nOur client is currently hiring 4 Field Service Technicians, Contract to Hire individuals to support operations and maintenance of advanced water treatment systems at a manufacturing facility. 
\n
\n Roles involve installation, maintenance and system monitoring and maintenance for equipment related to water treatment, including: Media filtration, Softening, Reverse osmosis (RO), Ion exchange (IX), De-oxygenation, Electro deionization, Ultrafiltration (UF) and Wastewater.
\n
\nKey responsibilities and qualifications for the role:
\nOperate, monitor, maintain, repair, and optimize industrial equipment performance. 
\nTroubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on various systems and equipment (Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues on equipment such as Valves, Air compressors, Ejectors, Process pumps, blowers, etc.).
\nPerform analytical testing such as turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, and other site-specific tests. 
\nMaintain inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts. 
\nCreate and maintain site paperwork and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed. 
\nCarry out mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as motors, PLCs, VFDs, valves, air compressors, ejectors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation. 
\nPartner with customer management and operation teams to advise on system performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting. 
\n
\nQualifications:
\nHigh School Diploma/GED or international equivalent and 5+ years of service/maintenance experience in an industrial environment, or a Bachelor's or Associate s Degree in Science/Engineering STEM or a technical certificate in Instrumentation, Controls, or programming. 
\nExperience with PLC control systems, PLC programming, and troubleshooting is . 
\n
\nThis role is ideal for someone who is mechanically and electrically inclined, enjoys working with new technologies, and likes being part of a large team. It offers the opportunity to learn valuable. Roles in Hemlock may have travel, for training purposes, and also, for candidates available and interested, to support other sites. 
\n
\nNotes: A profile with some or most of these skills (our last two hires had most of these qualifications):
\nElectrical & Power Systems – AC/DC power, control systems, troubleshooting (25 KVA - 4160 KVA), 480 VAC - 120 VAC maintenance.
\nAutomation & Instrumentation – PLC programming, Allen Bradley, Direct Logic, Modbus 485, Honeywell Triconex, Hart 4-20mA, TotalFlow Platforms.
\nSoftware & Controls – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, BlueBeam), network radio configuration, Mikrotik Radio, liquid & gas metering.
\nOil & Gas Operations – Gas compressor shutdown/service, start-up/shutdown of gas & liquid pipelines, instrument tubing & controls.
\nProject Management & Leadership – Team training, contractor oversight, budget tracking, compliance verification, audits, contract negotiation.
\nSafety & Compliance – NEC/NFPA standards, I&E inspections, hazardous liquid handling, fall protection, H2S safety, CPR & first aid.
\nTechnical Analysis & Troubleshooting – Data analysis, preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, cause & effect documentation.
\nConstruction & Field Operations – Electrical installations, conduit runs, VFDs, motor controls, instrumentation, industrial maintenance.
