Field Service Engineer – Midlands\nLocation: Midlands, UK (Field-Based)\nEmployment Type: Permanent | Full-Time\nA leading manufacturer of high-precision equipment is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their UK service team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a field-based environment, enjoys working independently, and has a passion for solving technical challenges.\nThe Role:\nYou’ll be the face of the company on customer sites across the Midlands, carrying out installation, servicing, repairs, and calibration of specialist precision measuring equipment. While the role is primarily Midlands-based, occasional travel to other regions and overnight stays may be required.\nKey Responsibilities:\n * \n Install precision measurement equipment at customer premises\n * \n Perform scheduled service and calibration work\n * \n Diagnose and repair equipment faults\n * \n Provide professional, on-site technical support\n * \n Maintain accurate records and service documentation\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n * \n HNC/BTEC (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering – or relevant industry experience\n * \n Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across electrical and/or mechanical systems\n * \n Good IT proficiency and communication skills\n * \n Full UK driving licence\n * \n Ability to work independently with excellent time management\nDesirable:\n * \n Experience working with high-precision or technical equipment\n * \n Familiarity with troubleshooting both hardware and software systems\n * \n A customer-focused approach and strong interpersonal skills\nWhat’s on Offer:\n * \n Competitive base salary depending on experience\n * \n Company vehicle and discretionary annual bonus\n * \n Generous pension scheme and benefits package\n * \n 23 days holiday + bank holidays (rising with service)\n * \n Ongoing training and career progression opportunities
