Astute's Renewables team is partnered with an electric vehicle (EV) charge point installer and independent connection provider (ICP) who have a large order book and diverse client base across the UK. We're looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to carry out commissioning, maintenance and repair of EV chargers around the Midlands,\n\nThe Field Service Engineer role comes with a salary up to £38,000, plus company van, fuel card, overtime and excellent company benefits.\n\nIf you're a Level 3 electrically qualified Field Service Engineer and are looking to work for an organisation that pride themselves on delivering high-quality service, then submit your CV to apply today.\n\nResponsibilities and duties\n \n As the Field Service Engineer you will:\n\nPerform routine maintenance to keep EV chargers operating efficiently.\nDiagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and software issues.\nConduct diagnostic tests, firmware updates, and replace faulty components.\nInstall, configure, and test Rapid DC, Ultra, and HPC EV chargers at client sites.\nEnsure chargers meet industry standards and function correctly.\nCollaborate with project teams to integrate charging stations with existing infrastructure.\nProvide on-site technical support and training to clients.\nRespond promptly to service requests and maintain clear communication.\nDocument all service activities, repairs, and customer interactions.\nFollow all safety regulations and company policies.\nEnsure compliance with local electrical codes and industry standards.\nAttend regular safety training and certifications. \n\nProfessional qualifications\n\nWe are looking for someone with the following:\n\nNVQ Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent.\n18th Edition, or 2391 test and inspection certifications desirable.\nAbility to read electrical schematics and technical manuals.\nAwareness of electrical hazards and on-site health and safety requirements.\nExperience in EV charging, renewable energy, or power electronics, desirable.
