Field Service Engineer – Semiconductor Manufacturing

Our client is on the leading edge of semiconductor manufacturing technology and they are looking to add an experienced Field Service Engineer to their team based in Austin, TX. The person in this position will be working on a high visibility project for the placement and startup of a prototype tool at a large semiconductor manufacturer. The position will be based in Austin, TX, but will travel to Hillsboro, OR on occasion (up to 25%). JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Install, startup, and maintain a prototype tool as part of a small team at a large semiconductor manufacturer
  • Provide technical support to customers and respond to questions regarding operation procedures, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues to minimize equipment down time and ensure positive customer relations.
  • Perform complex repair maintenance or replacement on semiconductor tools
  • Document any issues with the tool, modify and document any tool operation SOP’s as needed
  • Use Linux to interact via command line interface and modify as needed

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Field Service Engineer for semiconductor manufacturing tools
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Hands on mechanical skills and experience with electronic testing tools required
  • Must be comfortable using Linux operating system
  • Experience with C , C++, or similar coding languages is a BIG PLUS
  • Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller ) is a BIG PLUS
  • Willing and able to do hands on repairs, assembly, disassembly as required
  • Must be willing travel and work flexible schedules (up to 25% in the 1st year)
  • Previous work installing prototype or new semiconductor tools is a BIG PLUS.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Must be technically inclined, motivated, willing to take initiative/ solve problems with NEW cutting-edge technology
