The Field Service Technician plays a pivotal role in the start-up, commissioning, and maintenance of products and systems at customer facilities. This position involves frequent travel and demands a high level of professionalism as the direct representative when engaging with clients face-to-face.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct a detailed review of new system installations to ensure proper printing and functionality.
- Execute start-up and commissioning for new installations and provide service for repaired equipment.
- Generate comprehensive commissioning and service reports.
- Provide training for operations and maintenance groups.
- Offer over-the-phone support to customers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical assemblies.
- Review existing PLC programs for troubleshooting and diagnosis.
- Ability to modify PLC programs (a plus but not a requirement).
Requirements:
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, HVAC, and structural installation.
- Capability to interpret electrical and mechanical blueprint drawings.
- Preferred, though not required: Associates of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- (3) years of technical experience in maintenance, technical services, or an equivalent field.
- Proficiency in operating heavy machinery, including fork trucks, lulls, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.
- Competency in conducting mechanical assembly using hand tools.
- Ability to perform mechanical and electrical inspections.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC software or Schneider PLC Software.
- PLC Programming skills (not required but advantageous).
