Job Description
As a strategic member of a highly collaborative organization, the field service technician will be responsible for installing equipment and investigating and solving customers’ technical problems. In this role, the technician will spend half of their time going out to customer sites and working in the field. The other half of their time will be spent at the in-house automation shop, prepping orders for shipment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assemble and test equipment
- Install new equipment at customer’s facility and ensure full functionality
- Familiar with equipment’s software
- Provide on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Submit complete service reports for customer invoicing
- Review performance reports from customers and inspects malfunctioning or damaged equipment to determine the nature and scope of the problem
- Package and ship customer orders
- Assemble customer orders
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, etc.
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to meet the physical demands of this job: stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, move up to 50 pounds, etc.
