The HVAC Field Service Technician will support installation and maintenance regionally, will work service and installation in the Seattle and surrounding areas as well as statewide and surrounding states (drivable locations). No weekend work required. Company vehicle provided along with all travel expenses including office expenses/supplies provided; computer, phone, etc. This is a direct hire position with full benefits. 40 hour work week with no weekend work required.

Our client, a global manufacturer of semi-custom HVAC products and a market leader across North America is seeking a Service Technician to support clients in a regional area. They are dedicated to offering their customers the most reliable, technologically advanced and energy efficient products the industry has ever seen, and they combine that with a revolutionary internet-based remote monitoring technology.

Essential Functions:

The HVAC Service Technician will be the company’s expert in-charge on the job-site, responsible for performing Start-up / Repair work / Preventative Maintenance on world class HVAC equipment.

Technical Duties:

  1. Validate / update the end user contact information on file upon arrival at the job-site
  2. Conduct on-site equipment Start-up / repair work / Preventative Maintenance
  3. Inspect the equipment and make minor changes as required
  4. Prepare Start-up Report document for submission to the manufacturer, external sales representative company and the installing contractor
  5. Collect equipment operational and site data, photograph the installation site and equipment, and document them using a collaborative mobile application provided by the company
  6. Provide training to the on-site maintenance personnel
  7. Support to customers via telephone one week in a month
  8. Provide remote troubleshooting service on the equipment during non-site hours, when required
  9. Communicate and seek support from Service Managers to obtain technical advice and resolve challenges on job-site

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

a. Must have broad spectrum of knowledge in commercial HVAC, energy recovery, and heat transfer products

b. Demonstrated skills in electrical controls will be preferred

c. Ability to use basic hand tools

  1. Ability to travel on overnight trips on a regular basis
  2. Ability to accept assignments on notice as short as 1-2 weeks and work within strict deadlines
  3. Ability and willingness to learn and develop new skills, processes, and concepts for career development within the company
  4. Able to juggle multiple priorities at same time without being overwhelmed

e. Can innovate solutions to problems and present feasible alternatives in the face of obstacles

f. Knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft Office, Internet, and any ERP program

g. Has excellent communication skills – both written, verbal and presenting to senior leadership

h. Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team locally and remotely

Qualifications:

  • Diploma; HVAC or Refrigeration; or Building Systems Engineering Diploma
  • Min. 2 yrs. of HVAC and Control Systems experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
  • 1-2 years experience with refrigeration
  • Must have EPA Universal certificate/license
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean abstract
