Field Service Technician - Renewable Energy

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a global leader in offering sustainable solutions for the of renewable energy and the conversion of waste to resources. Together we are looking for a Field Service Engineer, to work proactively on plant maintenance to improve reliability and efficiency working both mechanically and electrically on equipment.



The Field Service Engineer role comes with a salary up to £45,000 +overtime & company van, this role offers competitive company benefits.

Responsibilities and duties



Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will:



As a Field Service Technician, your responsibilities include organizing, planning, and performing both scheduled and reactive maintenance on various electrical and mechanical equipment.

Diagnose and repair faults in electrical and mechanical systems, replacing parts as needed to restore equipment to operational status.

Adjust, optimize, and maintain systems continuously, also providing failure response services.

Supervise contractors during plant construction and upgrade phases as required.

Support remote engineers with programming, optimizing, and troubleshooting software/PLC-controlled equipment.



Professional qualifications



We are looking for someone with the following:



The candidate must possess electrical qualifications, with at least a current level 3 electrical certification. While the 18th Edition electrical installation qualification is desirable, it is not mandatory.

An industrial background is , as the role involves extensive mechanical work with pumps, submersible mixers, and other general mechanical equipment.

Familiarity with anaerobic digestion plants or similar process/plant environments is required.

Implement measures to enhance plant reliability, efficiency, and performance, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently.

The Field Service Engineer role would suit someone who is:



Maintain a flexible approach to work, accommodating overtime, UK travel, and regular overnight stays away from home.

Be organized with a proactive, can-do attitude.

Always uphold professionalism.

Possess a full, clean driving license, as the role involves fieldwork and travel across the UK.
