Field Technician

Job Overview

Technicians will work directly with a Field Lead and other technicians to assist with outfitting of prefabricated or existing instrument & diagnostic equipment buildings with project installations. The Technician should have industrial electrical experience (or comparable) including rigid conduit bending and installation, wire and cable pulling and AC/DC circuit wiring. This position will require travel to different parts of Indiana, and at times, Kentucky, & Ohio. All Technicians report directly to their area Project Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Work directly with Field Leads for daily projects

· Accurately cut, thread, and bend rigid meal and PVC coated conduits

· Measure and cut materials to sizer per building

· Pull electrical wiring per drawings

· Assist in commissioning of new equipment & decommissioning of old equipment

· Follow and understand all safety requirements per project

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge:

· General knowledge of power tools, including drill drivers, impact drivers, hammer drills, band saws, reciprocating saws, circular saws, etc.

· Low voltage wire puling and termination

· Have pride in craftsmanship & take responsibility for actions

· Knowledge of Gas System Operations (preferred but not required)

· Possess superb written and verbal communication skills

Skills:

· Competent in use of all basic hand tools

· Reading and interpreting electrical schematics

· Keep calm in high stress environments

Abilities:

· Travel 25-50% of the time

· To work 40 to 60 hours a week regularly without complaint

· To communicate with superiors & subordinates in a polite & professional manner

· To work in small teams and independently
