Position Summary
Tennessee AMS is an Electronic Monitoring service provider. We provide equipment and servicing of body worn electronic monitoring devices to our customers through structured programs. The position of SCRAM Field Technician is responsible for the completion of electronic monitoring equipment-related tasks assigned by the Dispatcher or Department Director, which may include installations, maintenance, replacement and removal of alcohol monitoring and location tracking equipment and the provision of related components for court-ordered and volunteer SCRAM CAM, RB, GPS/HA clients. This position performs these tasks primarily in public settings, such as courthouses, jails, other public locations, and may rarely go to client homes, within an assigned territory. In addition, this position also requires a working knowledge of all products offered by TAMS and the ability to install, maintain, and remove them as assigned. This position is reviewed through observation, conferences, customer reports, and annual evaluations.
The general area of service operations for this position will be the following counties:
Primarily Rutherford, Williamson, and Davidson counties. Some services may include Montgomery, Stewart, Houston, Dickson, Cheatham, Robertson, Sumner, or nearby counties. Travel to surrounding counties is possible but would be very limited.

Essential Duties
The SCRAM Field Technicians will perform the following general duties as outlined below:
- Manage assigned caseload efficiently.
- Contact client or other responsible party to schedule an appointment to perform assigned tasks.
- Attach, assign, replace all monitoring equipment using approved TAMS procedures, ensuring a secure fit and equipment functionality.
- Perform equipment maintenance, routine or otherwise, to check its functionality.
- Remove the monitoring equipment and return to inventory or deliver to other location following instructions.
- Ensure assigned clients receive and complete appropriate documentation, including participation agreements, payment forms and exit surveys.
- Verify client contact and employment information is complete at each interaction.
- Coordinate the retrieval of equipment and communicate any potentially missing equipment to the State Director.
- Clean and sterilize equipment per manufacturer’s and TAMS’ procedures before installing it on another client.
- Accurately follow all equipment related AMS policies and procedures.
- Communicate outstanding and unresolved assignment concerns to the State Director daily.
- Document all client/client related contact, including any form of written correspondence, in SCRAMnet, Insight or other applicable software.
- Adhere to all Tennessee AMS Policies and Procedures
- Track their own work hours.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience
Education:
- A candidate for the position of Field Technician must have High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Experience:
- Two (2) or more years’ experience in either Electronic Monitoring, Criminal Justice, loss prevention, or mobile/field technician work is .
Other Qualifications:
- Fluent in English (Spanish is a plus)
- The candidate must have reliable transportation and automobile insurance with a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury and $100,000 property damage coverage.
A candidate for this position must have excellent interpersonal, organization, written and oral communication skills; ability to work reliably without close supervision; ability to exercise discretion and a sound non-judgmental approach while interacting with staff and customers, and the ability to calmly handle multiple assignments for multiple departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is responsible for supervisory responsibilities as delineated in accordance with the Tennessee AMS organizational chart.
Typical Mental and Physical Demands
Ability to give, receive and analyze information, formulate work schedules, and prepare written materials. Must understand people from all walks of life and be able to communicate effectively with them. The work to be performed will be both in an office setting and in the field. Driving a vehicle will be required, sometimes for extended periods of time. Work will sometimes require this position to stand, kneel and walk while servicing clients in courts and jails. Some lifting of office supplies, equipment weighing generally less than 15 pounds will be required. The work mainly involves reading, writing, and use of a computer. Position requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines, i.e. computers, fax machines, telephone and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Cross-Training and Future Duties
Each employee will be cross trained in various skills and responsibilities of other positions within the organization. No single employee will be trained to cover another’s position entirely. It is the goal of Tennessee AMS to cross training its employees to perform various essential functions of the organization's work to provide each employee the opportunity to learn new skills, to combat boredom and provide added value to their skill sets. Cross training also provides the organization with the ability to navigate extended leaves of absence without compromising customer service. It is the responsibility of each supervisor to determine, in conference with employees, how staff shall be cross-trained and in which skills and responsibilities. This position’s duties may change periodically and are subject to annual, or more frequent, modifications in accordance with changes within the organization.
Compensation Plan
· Base salary for Billing and Customer Care assistance TBD
· $19.00 per hour starting
· Monthly vehicle stipend $300
· Annual vehicle repair allowance $500
· Fuel reimbursement for business travel
· Paid company holidays and PTO
· Eligible to participate in the Tennessee AMS Retirement Plan after 90 days of employment
