Purpose:

To train to assist in the installation of telecommunications sites, adopting a customer-focused approach to the client and their representatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out installation activities on towers, base stations, roofs and hard-to-reach places observing all safety measures, using all necessary personal protective equipment and techniques for working at height.
• Install electrical equipment, cabinets, and new circuits for telecommunication sites
• Test existing electrical circuits
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair telecommunications sites
• Work at height and train to become comfortable with this
• Assist in the reporting on the progress of sites throughout the day, including completing End of Day Reports.
• Ensure all work is in accordance with GBC policies and procedures, as well as Health and Safety policies.
• Work towards building other technical skills and abilities e.g. civils or rigging training etc. to become a multi-skilled telecommunications engineer.
• Any other duties as assigned

Essential Skills

• Recognised Electrical qualification (City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent)
• BS7671 18th Edition qualification
• Experience in the mobile telecommunications industry preferred but not essential
• Understanding of construction and layout drawings
• Health and Safety Qualifications • Valid Driving Licence
• Pass on Working at Height Medical
