Fire Compliance Manager

Job Description

We are now seeking a Fire Compliance Manager someone to ensure that fire safety systems are tested and maintained in furtherance of the Groups duties, under Article 17 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, in line with British Standard requirements.

Reporting to the Head of Fire & Building Safety, youll manage the Groups external FRA contract to ensure all FRAs are reviewed at the required intervals or following change and that any significant findings are allocated and actioned in line with the Groups Fire Management Plan. Raising follow up surveys and inspections, youll work alongside the Group external Compliance auditor to monitor the quality of FRAs and fire improvement works and provide technical advice and support regarding the design of fire/life safety active systems. Youll also manage the contractual relationships with the Groups appointed fire maintenance and servicing contractors and attend , community and corporate events to raise awareness regarding fire safety.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum level 3 qualification in fire safety management, risk assessment or engineering.
  • Be able to demonstrate technical knowledge regarding the design and installation of active fire safety systems.
  • Have experience of working within social housing and contractor management in a similar role.
  • Have strong knowledge of fire safety statutory instruments, British Standards and design standards.
  • Have understanding of the FRA process and BS9997 fire safety management standard.
  • Be a strong communicator with outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be able to effectively manage suppliers and contractors to drive performance
  • Be able to monitor and coordinate key programmes of work.
  • A technical membership (or higher) of the Institute of Fire Engineers or Fire Safety Managers is advantageous.

Appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check, satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
