Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Engineering: Develop, review, and optimize fire protection system designs, including fire sprinkler, alarm, and suppression systems, in accordance with and local codes.
- Project Management: Oversee projects from inception through completion, including managing budgets, timelines, and team coordination.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all fire protection designs meet NFPA standards, local building codes, and company safety policies.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct fire risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety evaluations for various building types and occupancy classifications.
- System Testing and Maintenance: Supervise the installation, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems to guarantee ongoing compliance and operational readiness.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical reports, as-built drawings, and compliance certifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, construction teams, and other engineering disciplines to integrate fire protection systems into building designs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification: NICET Level III or IV certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology (Water-Based Systems Layout, Fire Alarm Systems, etc.) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in fire protection engineering, design, and/or consulting.
- Technical Skills: Highly proficient in AutoSPRINK, Proficiency in CAD software, hydraulic calculation software, and an understanding of NFPA standards.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection Engineering
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software
- Experience in construction project management
