Aquinas Consulting is looking to fill an ON-SITE Fire Protection Engineer job in Mt. Morris, MI. As a technical leader, you’ll coordinate design activities, manage project schedules, and perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control duties to ensure all projects meet client requirements and goals.
Fire Protection Engineer Job Responsibilities:
• Establish design criteria for various design/build and plan/spec projects.
• Design and perform hydraulic calculations for complete sprinkler and standpipe systems using AutoSPRINK software.
• Coordinate designs with other building trades, reviewing and approving fire protection plans and calculations from Company designers.
• Collaborate with project managers and internal teams to ensure compliance with client and Company specifications.
• Conduct building plan reviews, field inspections, and develop building code concepts.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, departments, and trades.
Qualifications:
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan, with an NCEES record and willingness to apply for additional state licenses.
• Minimum 5 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
• Proficiency in NFPA standards, government fire safety codes, FM Global Datasheets, AutoSPRINK, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills, with experience managing small teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Valid driver’s license, with the ability to travel for occasional overnight trips.
