Fitter Hourly rate: $38.87 – Fully Qualified (starts at Learner 1: $33.03/hr; Learner 2: $34.98/hr; Learner 3: $36.92) We have opportunities for you to join our production team as a Fitter at our Cambridge, Ontario facility. Primary Function: To perform all types of fitting operations on Company products; install robotic tube hole cleaning equipment and support robotic technical personnel as required. Set up pre-heat equipment. Tasks: Set up jigs and holding devices as required; position, fit and assemble materials according to drawings, prints, jigs, and or layouts as required; cut and fit templates and gasket as necessary. Check for work accuracy and cleanliness as required. Read and interpret Work Orders, Drawings, Shop Instruction Sheets (SIS), Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS); plan and organize the fitting process; identify and verify work piece material. Identify and verify work piece material; plan and organize fitting process. Select, use and operate measuring and checking equipment. Select and use layout tools; establish layout lines from existing datum points; manufacture a template. Identify, select, and set oxy-acetylene or natural gas pressure settings and cutting tips; pre-heat the work piece; use oxy-acetylene or natural gas, radiograph, plasma-arc, power cut-off saw, and carbon-arc to cut work piece. Perform pressure testing procedures. Perform studding, arc air, non-pressure welding and component tacking while fitting. Examples of the welding required would be internal cyclone separator parts in jig assembly. Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of boilers and pressure vessels. Set up and position pre-heating equipment. Sling/transport, and or position material and equipment to and from work area manually by hooking for overhead crane or by using floor operated overhead crane or forklift; set up jigs and holding devices in work area as required. Perform simple uncomplicated lifts safely to maintain own production requirements. Works in a safe manner. Demonstrates good workmanship and practices. Qualifications: Proven commitment to workplace safety. Commitment to quality and the ability to work as a positive, effective team member, willing to go the extra mile to ensure we meet our customer expectations. Previous fitting experience, ideally in a heavy manufacturing environment. Successful completion of a welder program. Intermediate understanding of blueprint reading.
