Responsibilities and Duties:
- Diagnose and repair all vehicles, trailers and truck fleet on a regular basis to ensure proper operating condition
- Properly diagnose and install parts including brakes, driveline, suspension systems and oil changes
- Install and repair tires as needed during peak periods
- Troubleshoot equipment problems including electrical and mechanical concerns
- Perform a variety of repairs including, hydraulic cylinder replacement, filter replacement, grease trucks/equipment, water pump and fuel injector replacement, engine tune-ups and driveshaft repairs
- Perform safety inspections and preventive maintenance on truck fleet and shop equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper operating condition
- Meet all company and governmental safety operation requirements while servicing and repairing vehicles and equipment
- Pull trucks into and out of the shop and perform road tests as directed
- Pick up/deliver parts and supplies in and out of the shop area for service
- Maintain a clean, safe and effective work environment in all areas of the shop and its perimeter (including snow removal)
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness of shop, including but are not limited to cleaning bays, emptying garbage, etc
- Keep inventory count as necessary
- Complete all necessary paperwork to ensure accurate billing of parts and labor
- Responsible for consistently displaying the highest quality of work and customer service
- Perform other duties such as requested from time to time
- Work overtime as needed (provided it is pre-approved)
- Work hours to include occasional night and or weekend hours to respond to emergencies
- Must be available during any type of wintry weather event which may occur overnights, on weekends and holidays
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have your own tools
- 3+ years’ experience and skills as a skilled mechanic
- Dealership experience is a plus!
- Must be able to work on all types of vehicles and equipment
- Must have experience with electrical systems, skid steers and related equipment
- Must have diesel and hydraulic knowledge
- Scanner troubleshooting
- Possess mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge in the repair operation of the equipment needing repair: Ford, Chevy, Bob Cat, John Deere, Kubota, etc
- Knowledge in preventative maintenance procedures
- Knowledge in tool usage and care
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record in order to operate the facility vehicles off complex
- CDL license
- Ability to work and stay productive on your own
- Ability to complete jobs as assigned in a quality and timely manner
- Possess good communication skills to effectively communicate with managers and other employees
- Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, personable, positive attitude and good personality)
- Must desire the opportunity to learn the business and grow within the business
- Ability to and willing to work in the heat and cold weather
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor and be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, abdominal and lower back muscles to support
