Responsibilities:
Proficient in Air Brake and Suspension.
Proficient in maintenance on all refrigeration units.
Preventative maintenance training.
Acceptable welding training or experience with major and minor trailer structure repair.
Replacing flooring, roof and side panels of trailers.
Changing cables, drums and operators of roll-up doors.
Trouble shooting and repairing of electrical wiring on trailer lights.
Attend and successfully complete any training as assigned by management.
Utilize company work order system for assignments and track time.
Helps other trailer mechanics in other technical areas as needed.
May be required to perform other tasks as assigned by Manager.
Working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety
Qualifications:
1-2 years of vocational/technical training in diesel or body repair programs and 1-2 years hands on diagnosis and repair
Air conditioning certified
ASE Certifications in the following: Suspension, Air Brake, Diesel Engine; must obtain brake certification within 2 years of hire
Experience with electrical repair and diagnosis
Preventative maintenance experience required
Proficient welding skills at either stick or MiG – steel or aluminum
Intermediate computer skills needed
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preventive maintenance training
CDL is .
Must be able bend, twist, and lift up to 100+ lbs. and pass lifting test.
Work under the general direction of the Fleet Maintenance Manager.
Must have own basic tools and tool chest.
