Flight Test Specialist Engineer - Electric Propulsion System (m/f/d)

Job Description Your mission during this flight: You will be a member of our Flight Test Team, providing technical and operational expertise in Electric Propulsion Systems, (EPS) for Ground and Flight tests of crewed and uncrewed configurations. Tests will usually be conducted locally, (Bruchsal/Lahr) but may involve campaigns at remote locations from time to time. You will work closely with our engineering and EPS rig testing teams to assist our flight testing process and to ensure the required readiness for test in time, on cost and quality. In addition, you will manage activities related to the aircraft DMU. As a Senior FTSE, you will be a mentor to more junior engineers, and have opportunities for technical guidance. Volocopter has an established Flight Test Organization as part of our EASA Part21J Design Organization Approval (DOA). You are involved with planning, monitoring, and optimizing Ground and Flight Test activities for electric aircraft development and certification purposes on your specialities (EPS) for the overall functions of a complete aircraft You assist with aircraft preparation, inspection, and repair pre/post-test You take care of the mechanical integration of FTI systems into the aircraft and coordination of interfaces with affected systems You are involved in the assessment and documentation of tests including troubleshooting and development of standardized analysis and reporting tools You work on engineering projects, the solution of which requires technological advances and related development Qualifications Check in your professional skills: Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent technical education 15+ years of experience as an Engineer involved in aeronautical development and certification process Experience in electric propulsion systems Experience in planning, monitoring and examining propulsion systems testing Experience in Siemens NX or other CAD design and query tools Knowledge of the English language at a professional level Preferred skills: Education or experience in rotorcraft flight testing Aircraft MRO experience Experience as an MRB/Liaison Engineer, or as a Flight Test Analysis Engineer/FTSE Additional Information Our Volocopter flight includes:   Fast-growing high-tech company with a superb network of investors and partners    Chance to shape the future of aviation   Help us to create groundbreaking new projects - from scratch!    Personal accountability, as well as growth and learning opportunities, based on your personal strengths   An inspiring workplace with modern workspaces, flexible hours, quick decision-making, a flat hierarchy, positive leadership, great team spirit   Attractive compensation package Diversity at Volocopter:   Our differences are what make us great. Here at Volocopter, we value equal opportunities and trust.
