POSITION TITLE: Flood Welder
SCOPE OF POSITION:
This position is a unique style of welding. Flood Welding is the process by which we fill a die impression with weld material so we can re-cut the Press/Hammer die and re-use again. We will train the new employee in the Flood Welding process. Additionally, we incorporate Robotic welding and training will be provided for the tending of the robots. It is helpful, however, that we start the training with an individual that has welding experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepare forge components: Cleaning, grinding, and beveling edges of forged steel pieces to ensure proper weld penetration.
· Performing welds on forged steel parts with careful attention to heat control and maintaining consistent weld bead quality.
· Accurately interpreting technical drawings and weld symbols to ensure the final assembly meets design requirements.
· Conducting thorough inspections of welds using visual checks, or non-destructive testing methods to verify proper fusion and integrity.
· Regularly clean and calibrating welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
· Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project.
· Ability to multi-task with thick skin is a must. This can be a fast paced position that requires attention to details.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
· Minimum of Two (2) years experience in fast paced Weld environment
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Understanding the properties of different forged steel alloys and how they affect welding behavior.
· Capability to handle heavy forged components safely.
· Knowledge of various welding techniques including Mig & Tig Welding is required.
· Robotic Welding experience is not required but .
· Know basic computer skills
· You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, googles, respirators, and safety boots continuously for the duration of the work shift.
EQUIPMENT/TOOLS OPERATED AND/OR WORKED FROM:
· Forklift Certified .
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
· Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds as necessary.
· Work in an open concept may be exposed to a manufacturing environment that produces heavy machinery or equipment.
· Would be required to work outdoors in a warehouse in all weather conditions.
· You will be exposed to high heat, toxic fumes, smoke, dust, and dirt.
· You will handle tools up to 100lbs or more and using safety equipment to aid as needed.
