Job Description
Our client is looking to recruit a Forensic Claims Planner for a contract in the Reading area.\n\nForensic Claims Planner\n\nReading Area\n\n12-18 Month Contract\n\nInitially site based but more flexible once settled in\n\nIR35 to be determined\n\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\n \n Work as part of the planning team but seconded to support the commercial team and Forensic Claims planning manager in the assessment of contractor time delay claims. The role is initially site based whilst familiarisation takes place with the scope and scale of the project but will then be suitable for remote working interspaced with periods at site on a hybrid basis.\n \n The project is within a highly regulated industry and has a remaining programme duration of c.12 to 18 months. \n \n RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nTo interrogate and challenge individual Compensation Events for loss of time\nTo coach the supply chain in conjunction with the Claims Planning Manager to work to a consistent process.\nInterface directly with Supply Chain and undertake regular physical review & challenge of claims\nInterface with the Project & Supply Commercial Teams during claims discussions & negotiations\nApplication of technical and construction knowledge to challenge loss of time assessments\nEstablishment of accurate and up-to-date programme metrics to define the status of projects across the portfolio\nWork closely with the Project Manager and Commercial Teams and attend site / Teams based meetings when necessary.\nPERSON SPECIFICATION:\n \n An ideal opportunity for a someone having an aspiration of furthering their career in Claims based planning. Although the project is predominately Mechanical, Electrical and instrumentation related the role is suitable to all staff with a background of delivering complex Engineering, Procurement & Construction projects.\n\nAn ability to work in a partnering environment with the client\nKnowledge of various methods for assessing delay and disruption\nKnowledge of the core Clauses within the NEC Contracts (NEC 3 & 4), especially those relating to Time and Compensation Events.\nAbility to work closely with Supply Chain / internal Project Managers and Commercial Team to review, assess & provide analysis of various compensation events with a collaborative mindset.\nPrevious experience in compiling and reviewing Impact Assessments for the loss of time on construction and engineering projects\nExperience in the negotiation and settlement in various claims for loss of time.\nUnderstand Planning and Construction processes and be able to challenge methods of construction & identify programme and production mitigation opportunities.\nStrong knowledge and understanding of use of planning tools & techniques\nProficient with Primavera P6 in an Enterprise environment\nDemonstrable previous experience of construction methods and processes\nSkilled in progress interrogation and scrutiny of / challenging contractor schedules\nExperience of Critical Path Analysis / late starts early starts / finishes\nUnderstanding and interpreting Float Erosion and Critical activities\nSC Clearance desirable though not essential.\nQualifications\n\nQualifications in M&E Engineering / Electrical, project or construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience is desirable\nClaims management qualifications desirable\nMember of an appropriate professional body (CIArb, ACostE, APM etc.) is desirable but not essential\nTechnical Experience\n\n5 years+ in a Planning role\nPrimavera P6 expert\nMinimum of 2 years Claims management experience\nNuclear experience desirable\nConstruction and or M&E experience\nExpertise in the use of MS Excel desirable but not essential.\nCompany information\n\nAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
