Formulation Scientist

Job Description

I am working with an innovative clinical-stage biotech company developing an advanced LNP platform to enhance mRNA vaccines and therapies across multiple diseases. Their vision is to make mRNA-based treatments universally accessible, addressing critical global health challenges such as antibiotic resistance, cancer, and viral infections. They aim to become a leader in life sciences by applying cutting-edge science and technology to these pressing issues.

I am currently seeking a full-time Scientist – Formulations to join their team. Ideal candidates are highly motivated with expertise in Nanoparticles, Biomaterials, or Polymers.

Responsibilities

• Develop nanoparticle formulations for novel mRNA pharmaceuticals.

• Design study plans to optimize formulations for given RNA constructs and therapeutic intervention.

• Develop novel nanoparticle manufacturing technologies for in-house application and transfer to external (GMP) facilities.

• Closely interact with other teams, e.g., RNA synthesis, Biology, and Analytics within the NeoVac.

• Prepare documents and reports to management and internal and external partners.

• Assure high-quality standards of experimental research and development work in the laboratory

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Physics, or related with a focus on Bio- / Nano-materials.

• Profound scientific expertise from own research in nanoparticle technology, colloidal sciences, pharmaceutical technology, or related fields

• Practical experience in nanoparticle assembly & characterization, preferably lipid- or polymer-based nanoparticles.

• Sound understanding of biophysical and physicochemical characterization techniques such as DLS, SAXS, DSC, NMR, LC-MS, HPLC, TEM, etc.

• 1-2 years of relevant industry experience would be advantageous.
