A leading semiconductor company is seeking a customer-facing Applications Engineering Manager or Sr. Manager to support the promotion and technical integration of advanced foundry services. This is a highly visible role combining pre- and post-sales engineering support with direct client engagement to drive adoption of BCD, Analog/Mixed Signal CMOS, CIS, and RF processes.
This position is ideal for a technically strong, proactive communicator who can build deep relationships with customers, deliver technical insights, and collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to bring innovative solutions to market.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal design/process teams, supporting both pre-sales consultation and post-sales implementation.
- Deliver technical presentations and translate complex semiconductor process capabilities into actionable information for clients and sales teams.
- Build and maintain multi-level relationships with customer engineering and executive teams.
- Provide in-depth technical assistance to the sales team and help identify cost-performance trade-offs.
- Collaborate with internal development teams to explore custom engineering solutions and communicate customer requirements.
- Assist with evaluating new markets or applications for existing foundry technologies.
- Support customers during product testing and integration of high-complexity semiconductor devices.
- Continuously share technical updates, insights, and new methodologies across cross-functional teams to support growth and innovation.
Required Qualifications:
- BSEE or MSEE (or equivalent technical degree).
- 3+ years of experience as an applications engineer (field or factory-based) in the semiconductor or high-tech industry.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and external clients in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the San Jose/Silicon Valley area.
- Willingness to travel (~10%), primarily in the U.S. with occasional international trips.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in semiconductor manufacturing or ASIC design environments.
- Strong technical background in CMOS process technologies, EDA tools, IP, and cell libraries.
- Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently in a global organization with minimal oversight.
- Skilled in explaining complex technical topics to various audiences including engineers, executives, and business partners.
