Are you a seasoned professional in the **hot-dip galvanizing** industry with a proven track record of leadership and operational excellence? We’re seeking an Operations Manager to lead an 80,000 sq. ft. facility in Houston, Texas (relocation assistance available). This role is perfect for someone with strong technical expertise, a commitment to quality, and a hands-on approach to managing large-scale manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the hot-dip galvanizing process from receiving to shipping, ensuring compliance with ASTM specifications.
- Certify coatings, confirm quality standards, and drive process improvements with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Manage two shifts with 100+ shop employees while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- Handle invoicing, purchasing, and general shop administrative and financial functions.
- Calculate zinc usage and associated costs, ensuring accurate financial oversight.
- Oversee environmental disposal, including record-keeping and regulated waste manifests.
- Manage maintenance and repair of critical equipment, including galvanizing furnaces, kettles, cranes, and hoists.
- Lead kettle maintenance and change-out operations.
- Interact closely with customers, providing quotes, estimates, and participating in sales processes.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Miniumum Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience in the hot-dip galvanizing industry.
- Hands-on expertise with galvanizing furnaces, kettles, and centrifuge operations.
- Strong knowledge of processing various materials with an emphasis on quality standards.
- Financial and administrative experience, including cost calculations, quoting, and estimating.
- Proven ability to manage large teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of regulated waste disposal procedures and compliance.
- Safety-focused mindset and ability to uphold high safety standards.
- Excellent work ethic, leadership skills, and a customer-centric approach.
