You'll learn from a seasoned consultant with extensive experience at the mine. The company is expanding its existing processing plant and extending the mine's life through the development of a nearby deposit. Based in Northern Queensland, the mine employs a combination of long hole open stoping and sub level caving mining methods. The deep sections of the mine are seismically active, often experiencing rock defamation in the shoulders subject to high stress. The Roster & Camp Facilities Enjoy a FIFO position on an 8:6 roster (2:2 considered), with options to fly out of with Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville. Camp and meals are provided at accommodation in fully equipped camp with transfers organised from the airport. Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to); - Integrating geotechnical expertise into mine design, production sequencing, and excavations for reliable accessImplementing advanced sequencing guidelines and evaluating performance to uphold ground control standardsEnsuring safety and compliance through effective communication with staff and contractorsUtilizing state-of-the-art tools for engineering data analysis and designConducting precise monitoring, analysis, and inspections for daily geotechnical tasksProcessing, analysing, and reporting seismic data to inform operationsProviding critical geotechnical input for mine design, scheduling, and complianceDesigning, monitoring, and supporting ground control systems with comprehensive mapping and hazard reportingApplying rock mechanics and mining engineering knowledge to address operational challenges Your Value Degree qualified in Geotechnical, Civil or Mining Engineering3+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering in underground metalliferous miningProficient in IMS and geotechnical software packages (desirable)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesA commitment to safety and environmental stewardship This role offers exciting opportunities to work on project-based work, move your career forward with progression opportunities and a chance to make a significant impact on two major mining projects.
