Duties and Responsibilities

The following are required, but not limited to, for the position:

• Conducting and managing field operations consisting of sampling, testing, special inspections and observation utilizing ASTM, DOT, ACI, AWS and IBC methods and standards.
• Assisting senior staff with project execution and management through an understanding of engineering practice and construction methodologies as indicated by codes and specifications.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications.
• Conducting laboratory analysis of construction materials according to specified methods and standards.
• Physical activities including walking through uneven difficult terrain, long spans of standing and ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Up to 25% overnight travel should be anticipated

Educational Requirements and Skills

• A successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field with progression to achieving a professional licensure. Master’s Degree or MBA a plus.
• Candidates with Professional Engineer Licensure in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida will be shown preference.
• The ideal applicant will have 5 to 10 years of experience in bridge construction, specifically cable stayed bridges, including design and/or testing.
• Candidates with strong communication skills (written and oral), demonstrated managerial experience and ability to develop and manage positive client relationships are preferred.
• Ability to develop and follow project budgets and project schedules is desired. A candidate with a successful track record of project management will be prioritized.
• Ideal applicants will have proficiency in report writing, organization and utilization of technology.
