Vulcain Engineering provides Engineering consultancy services across multiple Industry sectors on a global scale. With operations in 16 countries and employing over 2,700 staff worldwide, our business responds to the needs of our clients by delivering expertise in the form of high added value engineering services.

With a primary focus on the Nuclear Sector, our Technical Communities based in the South West of England are making valuable contributions to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC).

Training and Development

Be assured that when you join our team, we’ll ensure you have the relevant training and development you need to do your job well and become part of a successful business:

  • Start with a 2 week induction training period with your fellow graduates, with topics like Introduction to Nuclear, Nuclear Safety, guest speakers from the Nuclear Sector and ice-breaker activities.
  • You will receive a detailed training plan scoping out the first two years of your career on the Graduate Scheme with us.
  • You will also develop your softer skills with training to prepare and develop your approach to working with colleagues and the client.
  • Training has been developed with the UK-SPEC in mind – the core training is likely to include: Commercial Awareness, Risk Management and the APM-PFQ.
  • We will work with you to assign you a Vulcain mentor as you begin your career with us.
  • You will become a STEM ambassador as part of our corporate social responsibility.
  • We offer placements which can vary between 3 – 12 months, embedded within the client organisation (please note that these can vary in duration and location depending on client need). We aim to ensure you have a rotation of at least two placements during your Graduate Scheme time.
  • You will be actively encouraged to continue your professional development towards Chartership.
  • The potential to visit sites like Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C or even sites like Flamanville Nuclear Power Plant.
  • You may even be asked to work from one of our abroad offices for a period of time.

Qualifications

  • You should hold or be about to complete a degree in an Engineering or STEM related discipline (First or Upper Second).

Due to the nature of the work, candidates will be required to undergo a Basic Security clearance (BPSS) and must have Independent Right to Work in the UK.
