Graduate Engineer
Job Description
Summary:
This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and training (approx. 1 year) in project delivery, with the potential to progress to a Project Engineer role upon successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support: Assist project teams in delivering projects, adhering to company health, safety, quality, and environmental systems.
- Documentation & Coordination: Review project contracts, specifications, and schedules; coordinate with departments to meet deadlines and ensure smooth project execution.
- Communication & Reporting: Update Project Manager on project status, report any cost or timeline variations, and communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Meetings & Progress Monitoring: Organize project reviews, maintain schedules, and prepare progress reports. Attend client meetings, both in the UK and Ireland, when required.
- Contract Management: Ensure compliance with contract terms, manage variations, and minimize warranty claims.
Training & Development:
- Gain knowledge for progression to Project Engineer through on-the-job experience and formal training.
- Participate in regular reviews to monitor personal development progress.
Leadership & Supervisory:
- Promote health and safety, supervise subcontractors on-site, and assist in developing Construction Phase Plans.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, review RAMS, and manage material delivery to site.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior work or placement in engineering, manufacturing, or project management.
- Skills: Strong communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and computer skills (MS Office, Project, ERP systems).
- Health & Safety: Knowledge of construction safety, CDM regulations, and site rules.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel and occasionally stay overnight within the UK and Ireland.
- CAD experience and an understanding of engineering drawings and wastewater treatment processes.
