Starting salary from £28,000 rising to £46,665 (on completion)

Sunderland Base – travel will be required



Here at Northern Gas Networks we have an amazing development opportunity for anyone wishing to take a step into Gas and Construction engineering!



We have two exciting opportunities to join us in our newly created development programme in our Capital Projects delivery team.  As an Engineering Project Manager your role will be integral in supporting our long-term strategic goals whilst working your way through the 2-year programme building your knowledge, exposure and experience within the gas industry.



You will be supported by a mentor alongside completing a programme of associated training courses to support you to become a fully qualified and experienced Engineering Project Manager.  On successful completion the aim will be to offer the opportunity on a permanent basis reflective of your capabilities and skillsets that you have acquired over the programme.



Some of your accountabilities and responsibilities as you progress through the programme will include



•    Carrying out site inspections and audits



•    Reviewing construction designs



•    Producing contracts for design and construction projects



•    Carrying out assessment of commercial applications and variations



•    Providing progress updates and updating programmes



•    Producing and presenting business cases



•    Building an SCO portfolio, working to become a Competent Person capable of issuing Permits to Work



What we are looking for in our Engineering Project managers



•    Engineering/construction degree (HND/HNC accepted) OR technical work experience in the engineering or construction industry



•    Technical knowledge in one (or more) of the following areas



?    Mechanical Engineering



?    Civil Engineering



?    Electrical Engineering



?    Control & Instrumentation Engineering



?    Cathodic Protection Engineering



?    Process Engineering



?    Chemical Engineering



?    Materials Engineering



•    Knowledge of HS&E and how it should be managed within a construction environment



•    Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills

•    Starting salary of £28,000 per annum with yearly increments



•    2-year fixed term contract with the option for permanent role after successful completion of the development scheme

•    Up to 5% bonus (dependent upon achievement of set targets)
