Cranleigh STEM is working with an established, family-run environmental waste management business, we are recruiting for a Graduate Environmental Compliance Coordinator to join their team in South Oxfordshire\nSalary: £. Competetive\nLocation: South Oxfordshire\nWork Arrangement: Some flexibility, with occasional home working possible.\nTransport: Pool vehicles provided for site visits\nProgression: Open to experienced candidates and strong graduates with relevant experience\nKey Responsibilities:\n * Ensure compliance with Environmental Permits, trade effluent discharge consents, surface water discharge consents, abstraction licences, and other regulatory requirements.\n * Lead and manage permit applications and variations (internally or via consultants).\n * Support site managers in ensuring compliance with environmental permits, investigating and documenting any deviations.\n * Review and standardise environmental management systems across sites.\n * Assist operational teams during Environment Agency (EA) visits, inspections, and audits.\n * Review Environment Agency Compliance Assessment Report (CAR) forms and raise necessary actions.\n * Compile, check, and submit quarterly waste returns to the EA.\n * Liaise with project teams to ensure Environmental Permit applications or variations align with site developments.\n * Analyse and interpret environmental monitoring data to identify trends and non-compliances.\n * Submit Schedule 6 reports to the EA following breaches of environmental limits.\n * Ensure the timely completion and submission of reports such as Pollution Inventory Returns, Annual Environmental Reports, Hydrogeological Risk Assessments (HRA), and Landfill Gas Risk Assessments (LFGRAs).\n * Support compliance with Animal By-Products Regulations for storage and transportation.\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n * A graduate in the field of environmental science or a closely related discipline.\n * Ideally a placement year or in the waste industry, environmental consultancy, or a regulatory role.\nEssential Qualifications & Skills:\n * GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths.\n * Environmental degree or similar.\n * Full UK driving licence - required for site visits.\n * Understanding of Environmental Permitting Regulations and relevant legislation.\n * Strong organisational skills with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.\n * Effective communicator, capable of liaising with regulatory bodies.\n * Ability to work independently and within a team
