Hardware Engineering Lead sought within a specialised division of a global manufacturing brand offering bespoke mechanical/electro engineered solutions to the oil and gas, rail and subsea sectors.
As the Hardware Engineering Lead you’ll be responsible for the development and support of the Hardware Engineering team you will review and approve team deliverables to ensure that all work meets quality standards. Additionally, you will work closely with the Programme Manager and other stakeholders to prioritise projects and manage workloads. Part of your role will involve serving as a technical authority for hardware platform development and collaborating with the Operations Engineering Manager to support the company’s goals. You will also champion electrical health and safety, advocating for best practices within the team and across the company.
The ideal Hardware Engineering Lead will have hands-on experience with Altium and SolidWorks PDM vault and will be comfortable with PCB design, Ethernet, USB, and Serial communications. Proficiency with CAD software is also required. While not required, candidates with an MEng in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards chartership will have an advantage. Experience with high-availability electronics design and prior team leadership experience are also desirable.

The Hardware Engineering Lead:
*Degree educated in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or significant track record of electrical/electronic design
*Extensive experience in PCB design and manufacture
*Expert user of Altium and the SolidWorks PDM vault
*Strong understanding Ethernet, USB, and Serial Communications
*Working knowledge of CAD
