With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the worlds most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:As a Hazardous Building Materials Field Technician, youll be expected to assist Project Managers on small, large, and complex projects, including the development and management of scope, schedule, budget, technical resources, health and safety, and support for junior staff. The role will also include a field component, and the successful candidate can expect to be at least 65/35 field/office-based, with out-of-town travel required. Fieldwork includes conducting hazardous building materials assessments, mould and indoor air quality investigations, developing specifications, authoring reports, and creating asbestos management plans. Work may also involve overseeing abatement and remediation activities and collecting air samples for asbestos, lead, and mould.Role accountabilities:The successful candidate will be expected to perform hazardous building material assessments (asbestos, lead, mould, etc.); manage hazardous building material abatement projects (asbestos, lead, mould, etc.); conduct mould investigations and basic indoor air quality assessments; manage field notes; prepare technical reports; and develop an understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis and of client businesses to enable personal performance improvement and career development. The Hazardous Building Materials Field Technician should have a good knowledge of relevant provincial and national standards and codes of practice.Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications: 5+ years of practical experience conducting hazardous building material surveys, with experience in BC preferred. Arcadis will provide training to build skill sets with career progression. Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Building Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, or Occupational Health and Safety. Level S Asbestos Survey Training, WorkSafeBC. Able and willing to travel to sites for extended periods (maximum two-week rotation). Physical requirement: ability to lift 30 pounds in weight. Valid Driver's License. Key Skills: The applicant should have good interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency in relevant desktop applications; strong attention to detail and accuracy; understanding of data management processes; data gathering and analysis skills; and basic management and calibration of equipment.
