Head of Engineering

Job Description

The Head of Engineering is a critical leadership role within Access solutions, responsible for overseeing the engineering function. Thie role ensures the integration and optimisation of product design, development and manufacturing processes. The Head of Engineering will lead a team of engineers, driving innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement across all parts of the Engineering function.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of product development engineers, representing the Engineering function in strategic planning and decision-making

processes.

• Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage the design release process and engineering change control
• Implement Design for Manufacture methodology
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement by driving lean manufacturing principles and CI methodologies, ensuring robust

process control quality assurance systems are followed.

• Oversee product design and development processes, ensuring designs meet

customer demands, certification and regulatory standards.

Key Skills:

• Masters or Bachelors degree in Engineering related field (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial)
• Significant experience of leading Engineering teams within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in both design engineering and process engineering.
• Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
