Head of Health & Safety

I have partnered with a leading chemicals company based near Cardiff who are looking to hire a Head of Health & Safety to join their management team

Company Background

My client has full order book for their chemical products over the next 3 years and investing millions on site to keep up with demand so great time to join and be part of the journey.

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + Bonus + Pension

Industry:  Refinery  /  Paper mill /  Power /  Biomass /  Chemical / Pharma

Key Responsibilities

- Leads, develops and delegates appropriately to Safety and Health personnel to enhance capabilities and site performance

- Regularly monitors UK Health & Safety legislation and best practices in Safety and Health

- Ensures full implementation of Corporate Health, Safety, and Security policies on site, maintaining compliance through internal auditing, inspections, and observations.

- Oversees the site's risk profile, conducting regular reviews, audits, and assessments of Health & Safety management arrangements

- Develops and executes Behavioural safety programs for both employees and contractors, fostering behavioural changes that foster a culture of safety.

- Identifies, organizes, and delivers comprehensive Health & Safety training programs, aligning with both UK legislation and Corporate requirements.

- Managing the site's ISO 45001 Management System and SHE Self-Assessment Program

- Manages the Safety and Health budget for the site ensuring that cost targets are met

Background

• Bachelor/University degree or similar in engineering, sciences or related field or  NEBOSH Diploma 
• Minimum five years relevant Health & Safety experience in a Hazardous Process Industry environment (Chemical, Steel, Oil & Gas, Pharma).
