HEAD OF MAINTENANCE REQUIRED FOR A RESIDENTIAL DEMENTIA CARE HOME BASED IN GUILDFORD (GU3)



£13.00 - £14.00 PER HOUR (DoE)



40 HOURS PER WEEK



MUST HAVE A DRIVING LICENSE



IDEALLY HAVE PREVIOUS CARE HOME MAINTENANCE OR SCHOOL MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE

This is an oustanding opportunity to work for a very forward thinking, privately owened Care Home that really values and invests in its staff and team.



As the Head of Maintenance, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall upkeep and safety of the Care Home facilities.



This includes managing all aspects of property maintenance, from routine repairs to large-scale improvements, to guarantee a secure, clean, and well-maintained environment for our and staff.



Key Responsibilities:



Oversee and manage all maintenance activities within the care home, including electrical, plumbing, heating, and carpentry work.

Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment and facilities are in good working order.

Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs or projects.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and , ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety and emergency procedures.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, safety checks, and repairs.

Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.

Lead and support a small maintenance team, providing guidance and training where necessary.

Collaborate closely with the care home management to prioritize tasks and plan long-term maintenance strategies.

About You:



Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally within a residential healthcare setting or school.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in a care environment.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and organizational skills.

A compassionate and patient approach, recognizing the unique needs of a dementia care setting.

Relevant qualifications or certifications in maintenance or a related field are desirable.
