Job Description

Head of Power Electronics – Oxfordshire - £60,000 pa - £75,000 pa

A world leading Electronics manufacturer specialising in Scientific research & innovation, are looking for a Head of Power Electronics to lead their Power Electronics department of their large Electronics team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high level technical knowledge & practical experience of power supply technology
• Manage the fault analysis & improvement programmes
• Manage new power supplies or power supply developments
• Provide training, documentation and support to the Operations team

Key Skills/Experience:

• Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or another relevant discipline
• Power Converter technologies (DC/DC, AC/DC, pulsed power supplies etc.)
• Power Supply design
• PCB Design
• Analogue & Digital Circuit Design
• Testing & Simulation of performance (MATLAB/Simulink, EMC, dynamic response etc.)
• Fault finding & failure analysis
• Previous experience with leading a team & managing complex projects

Any mix of the following is nice to have:

• Managing purchase contracts in excess of £50k
• Control Theory
• Digital Electronics technologies (DSP, FPGA etc.)
• Experience with power over 1kW and/or pulsed power supplies
