Head of Quality and Environmental

Job Description

Anderson Knight is currently partnering a leading uk, end-to-end mechanical, electrical and civil engineering services business based in Glasgow.

The overall purpose of the role is to ensure that the Quality and Environmental processes and procedures within the business and its supply base are effectively deployed & compliant with U.K regulations, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 1090 and Achilles Verify standards across all sites / locations. 

The role requires direct line management duties covering Quality and Environment along with the responsibility for acting as the primary client interface relating to all Quality and Environmental joint initiatives, supporting their HSEQ Director in strategic plans for Quality and Environmental improvement plans and deliverables.

The key focus of the role is to: 

•\tLead, influence and support the business streams to become process driven, with compliance at the core.

•\tPositively influence quality and environmental culture and performance within executive and operational areas across the business.

•\tSupport the deployment of our quality and environmental management systems and work closely with the operational teams to identify key environmental risks and hazards alongside the development of controls and mitigation strategies.

Quality: 

•\tDelivering the strategy and provide advice, support and guidance on all aspects of quality 

•\tSuccessfully lead and develop your team, acting as a role model promoting a positive culture by creating an interest and enthusiasm for good quality in all activities 

•\tOnboarding and training new team members

•\tEnsure Compliance with ISO accreditation and BS requirements = ISO9001 and BS1090

•\tDeveloping internal audit programme and drive audit and inspection schedule for compliance assurance across all locations

•\tDevelop, Implement & Monitor business processes and ensure periodic Quality Control checks

•\tWorking together with department heads to develop solutions to quality issues

•\tImplementing schedule of relevant site / office inspections & collate corresponding KPI’s, statistics & trends

•\tSatisfying client expectations regarding business service delivery whilst ensuring Intelligent Quality methodology knowledge, understanding and adherence at site locations.

•\tCreating quality standards / processes for new or existing products or services to guarantee quality 

Environment: 

•\tImplementing environmental policies and practices

•\tDevising strategies to meet targets and to encourage best practice

•\tDevising the best tools and systems to monitor performance and to implement strategies

•\tSuccessfully lead and develop your team, acting as a role model promoting a positive culture by creating an interest and enthusiasm for good quality in all activities 

•\tEnsuring compliance with environmental legislation

•\tEnsuring Environmental licence compliance e.g. waste carriers, discharge consent

•\tEnsuring Compliance with ISO accreditation requirements = ISO 14001

•\tManaging environmental strategy budgets

About You 

•\tWorking knowledge of UK Environmental legislation.

•\tISO9001, ISO14001 management system standards knowledge and experience.

•\tInternal auditor qualification.

•\tDemonstrable experience in auditing, implementing improvement activities and building a positive culture within a business.

•\tValid UK driving license.
