Head of Scientific Affairs & Laboratory (m/f/d) Erpeldange-sur-Sûre, Luxembourg We are a 100% independent, family-owned Luxembourg company with over 175 years' experience in the tobacco industry and brands expertise (FMC, FCT, accessories, vaping and new tobacco products). The Head of Scientific Affairs & Laboratory plans, directs and oversees the company’s procedures and laboratory activities in order to maintain the quality of the delivered products and their legal compliance on all different markets. Your main responsibilities: Manage the Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (SRA) department (e.g.

Coordinate and supervise all SRA activities; Assume the necessary scientific assessments in relation to the relevant regulatory submissions; Provide the necessary scientific competence and background; Guarantee the overall regulatory compliance of our services and products). Anticipate non conformity product issues. Represent the Company at global level scientific organisations in order to monitor science and regulatory related issues and to guarantee Landewyck's product compliance in the future.

Work on the continuous improvement of the laboratory activities and quality standards (e.g. Coordinate the general management of the Scientific Laboratory; Maintain and extend the Central Laboratory’s accreditation in compliance with audits & assessments as defined per ISO 17025 ). Be an advisor with a knowledge of the operations and supply chain flows and procedures (e.g.

Attend regular and relevant internal meetings). Manage and develop the team (e.g. Ensure teams are appropriately organized and staffed; Set the priorities in compliance with the rules & obligations as defined by the Accreditation Standards).

Manage and control budgets (e.g. Define and Assess the short- and long-term management of the related investments). Your profile: Scientific university level required, preferably chemistry, food chemistry or bio-science related (minimum MSc , a PhD is considered an important asset) and experience in the field.

A minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant/similar position (a solid track record in the tobacco industry is a real asset). skills: English and French; German is an asset. Highest integrity and commitment to ethics and scientific standards.

Strategy development skills, rigorous analytical expert with learning agility and innovative ideas that allow you to be a solution/results oriented person who can motivate a team, manage change whilst keeping the business and the customer in mind. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to present scientific data. Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders within the science/regulatory/tobacco sector.
