Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts.

Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.\n\nWe currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Health and Safety Advisor within the Health and Safety team. This role will be based on site in Coventry. With 13km of rural high-speed line Sublot 2B extends north from Kenilworth, through Warwickshire, Balsall Common and Burton Green to the River Blythe.

The strategy for Sublot 2B is to deliver the main structures enabling full connectivity across the two Network Rail corridor crossings – the Coventry to Leamington Spa Line and the West Coast Mainline at Carol Green – alongside supporting the mass haul of materials between sublots.\n\nRole description:\n\n * Support the Sublot H&S Manager and or H&S Team including Advisors and Administrators when needed.\n\n * Work closely with the H&S Admin team to understand their role, and be able to undertake their workstreams during periods or planned and unplanned absence.\n\nExperienced required:\n\n * Previous experience in Construction and or similar high risk industries such as but not exhaustive of working in the Built Environment, Building Site(s), Railway / Transport and Infrastructure, Oil, Gas or Chemical.\n\n * Ability to remain objective when under pressure, and work to tight deadlines with ambitious timelines.\n\n * Able to work under own initiative when given tasks commensurate with their level of competence and expertise.\n\n * Demonstrate a basic understanding of risk management and how this is implemented within the workplace.\n\n * Be Information & Technology (IT) literate with intermediate skills in the Microsoft Suite of software, such as, but not exhaustive of, Excel, Word, Power-point, Publisher and Microsoft forms.\n\nPlease note candidates will need to have a current valid right to work in the UK to be considered for this role.\n\nBenefits of working with us\n\n• Flexible working available for some roles\n\n• Free parking\n\n• Travel allowance for eligible candidates\n\n• Family friendly leave policies\n\n• Excellent pension contributions\n\n• Healthcare\n\n• Health risk assessments\n\n• Access to employee assistance programmes\n\n• Access to annual flu vaccinations\n\nAbout Balfour Beatty VINCI\n\nBalfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium.
