Health And Safety Manager

Leading Civils and Groundworks company based in Birmingham has an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager.



You will report directly to the Health and safety Director and will take overall responsibility for Health And Safety for the site. This will include but not be limited to:



- Ensuring all current contracts comply with current health and safety legislation with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of all staff and visitors.



- Reviewing and ensuring the company is compliant with all Health and Safety

- Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.

- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards within the workplace.

- Lead investigations into accidents or incidents, performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.

- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance with regulations.

- Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety practices, including first aid training as necessary.

- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organisation.

- Stay updated on changes in health and safety legislation, ensuring the organisation remains compliant.

- Liaise with external regulatory bodies as required.



Requirements



- NEBOSH qualification

- Proven experience in a safety management role or similar position.

- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.

- Excellent skills in root cause analysis and report writing.

- Certification in first aid is highly desirable.

- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to train others effectively.

- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary.
