Health and Safety Manager\n\nBirmingham\n\nHospitality Sector\n\nConstruction Refurbishment and Fit-out Main Contractor\n\n£60,000 - £75,000 + Car / Allowance + Healthcare + Bonus + Package\n\nThis company have been trading since 2011 and made a fantastic reputation in the hospitality sector working for large blue chip clients; mainly pub chains. The business has peaked at £20m turnover and delivered some fantastic flagship projects over the years. \n\nThis is an opportunity to join an ever growing business and be part of delivering some high-quality projects.

\n\nThe Role\n\nKey Objectives:\n\nCreate a safe working environment with a minimum site score of 95%\n\nHandover on time\n\nHandover snag-free\n\nFinal account agreed at handover\n\nGenerate repeat business\n\nHead of HSQET Responsibilities:\n\nAttends briefings for larger, complex projects in support of the Contracts Manager\n\nProduces the Construction Phase Plan for "non-rollout" projects\n\nProduces template documents/folders for use on-site and ensures they are constantly updated in line with best practice and legislation\n\nActs as Temporary Works Coordinator, identifies and actions any Temporary Works requirements\n\nProduces generic RAMS for operatives\n\nProduces and maintains Site Setup Boxes for site\n\nConstruction\n\nAdvises on optimal site setup and ensures Brand Standards are maintained\n\nAttends site and conducts a H&S audit (minimum once per project or fortnightly depending on duration) and supports the Site Manager in rectifying shortcomings\n\nCoaches and mentors Site Managers on best practices to achieve optimal site scores from independent inspections\n\nProduces, reviews, and agrees RAMS for high-risk works\n\nActs as Temporary Works Coordinator on-site\n\nAttends progress meetings as needed to support the Contracts Manager\n\nLeads innovation in site H&S practices, including use of digital systems (e.g. electronic inductions, sign-in/out)\n\nProduces and manages the Site Manager of the Month League Table\n\nShares good practices and audit learnings across sites (e.g. from BSIMS / CSS)\n\nAttends sites in the event of an accident to ensure full investigation and resolution\n\nNon-Site Duties\n\nHolds and maintains relevant qualifications and accreditations (e.g.

IOSH, NEBOSH)\n\nImplements and maintains Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)\n\nMaintains customer-required accreditations (e.g. Facilities Line, Safe Contractor, CSS)\n\nOversees Training Strategy through Training Matrix and pursues related Government Grants\n\nManages supply chain competence using Alcumus-approved subcontractors and supports long-term partners in compliance\n\nEnsures statutory requirements at head office are completed (safety checks, inspections, compliance)\n\nEnsures vehicle safety checks and promotes automation through technology\n\nInducts new employees and direct subcontractors\n\nRepresents the company at customer forums as required\n\nPrepares quarterly SHEQT report for the Management Team\n\nBuilds strong relationships with Clients, Consultants, and Subcontractors\n\nBuilds morale and motivates teams, including subcontractors\n\nProtects the best interests of the Company at all times\n\nAligns company strategies with active HSE Campaigns\n\nRecruits, trains, and mentors an Assistant HSQET Operative to support business growth\n\nParticipates in the Senior Management Team, attending meetings and providing reports and guidance
