Health and Safety Officer

Location: Swindon (Fully Onsite Role)

Job Type: Full-Time

Driving License Required: Must have a valid driving license as the role involves working across two sites in Swindon.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct weekly fire extinguisher checks.

• Perform weekly fire alarm call points checks.
• Carry out monthly ladder inspections.
• Conduct weekly defibrillator checks.
• Perform monthly health and safety inspections.
• Test emergency lights on a monthly basis.
• Update the health and safety personnel list regularly.
• Review and update existing Health and Safety procedures.
• Help to develop and implement new Health and Safety procedures.
• Conduct manual handling assessments.
• Perform Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments.
• Check and restock first aid boxes and eye wash stations.
• Monitor and update first aid stock.
• Maintain and update the training matrix; provide training to staff.
• Conduct COSHH risk assessments for cleaning products and production-packaged products.
• Perform risk assessments for machines, production lines, warehouses, and car parks.
• Prepare induction packs, verify right to work, and conduct staff inductions.
• Update the fire register regularly.

Qualifications:

• 1- 2 years’ proven experience in a similar Health and Safety role.
• Must be NEBOSH qualified and able to write risk assessments.
• Strong experience from a manufacturing H&S setting – food, pharma or medical strongly .
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
