Health and Safety Officer
Location: Swindon (Fully Onsite Role)
Job Type: Full-Time
Driving License Required: Must have a valid driving license as the role involves working across two sites in Swindon.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct weekly fire extinguisher checks.
- Perform weekly fire alarm call points checks.
- Carry out monthly ladder inspections.
- Conduct weekly defibrillator checks.
- Perform monthly health and safety inspections.
- Test emergency lights on a monthly basis.
- Update the health and safety personnel list regularly.
- Review and update existing Health and Safety procedures.
- Help to develop and implement new Health and Safety procedures.
- Conduct manual handling assessments.
- Perform Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments.
- Check and restock first aid boxes and eye wash stations.
- Monitor and update first aid stock.
- Maintain and update the training matrix; provide training to staff.
- Conduct COSHH risk assessments for cleaning products and production-packaged products.
- Perform risk assessments for machines, production lines, warehouses, and car parks.
- Prepare induction packs, verify right to work, and conduct staff inductions.
- Update the fire register regularly.
Qualifications:
- 1- 2 years’ proven experience in a similar Health and Safety role.
- Must be NEBOSH qualified and able to write risk assessments.
- Strong experience from a manufacturing H&S setting – food, pharma or medical strongly .
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
