Health & Safety Officer - Job Summary



Location: Denham

Department: Production Engineering

Reports to: PED Manager

Direct Reports: None



Purpose of Role:



Ensure a safe working environment for manufacturing staff by conducting risk and COSHH assessments, maintaining safety documentation, and promoting compliance with H&S regulations.



Key Responsibilities:



Conduct risk and COSHH assessments for manufacturing processes.

Develop and maintain Safe Systems of Work and the Health & Safety Management Plan.

Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, industry standards, and company procedures.

Standardise H&S documentation and conduct safety audits.

Monitor KPI performance and provide reports to senior management.

Train and communicate H&S policies to staff.

Support additional H&S compliance initiatives and training.



Requirements:



Essential:



Strong knowledge of H&S legislation (HASAW, COSHH, DSEAR, COMAH).

Experience in risk assessment, compliance, and training.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn H&S management software.Desirable:



Manufacturing knowledge and advanced Excel skills.

NEBOSH Certificate & IOSH membership
