Health & Safety Advisor



A leading automotive manufacturer, requires an experienced health and safety professional to assist with the implementation and development of good health, safety and welfare standards for the workforce and to meet all best practice, and legal obligations.



Key duties and responsibilities of the Health & Safety Advisor will include, the implementation of planned health and safety strategies and provide competent health and safety advice, including technical and operational expertise to internal customers, to ensure planned health and safety strategies, arrangements and processes are implemented effectively.



Interpret workplace activities being conducted, in relation to the need for compliance with health and safety legislation.



Delivery of specified health and safety strategies and targets through management and maintain site safety plan.



Conduct annual internal health and safety audit programme, and ensure working practices are effective, an audit action plan is implemented and completed.



When required, arrange and or deliver agreed health and safety training, maintain 45001 standards.



Ensure safety delivery matches the requirements of the agreed business Service Level Agreements and meets any set Key Performance Indicator's



Ensure workplace safety inspections, at all levels, are conducted and results are acted upon.



Advise to all levels throughout the business, relating to the implementation and control of health and safety arrangements to mitigate risk of injury and ill health within the workplace.



Consult, advise and educate management in understanding the risks associated with event management and the need to implement the process to minimise the risks to the business.



Maintaining local documentation across the business, for evidence of health and safety Supporting and involvement with health and safety projects when required compliance.



Skills & Experience



Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment

Automotive, aerospace or related industry knowledge

General Certificate in Health and Safety Management or equivalent - preference for NEBOSH Diploma

OHSAS 45001 Lead Internal Auditor

Membership of professional body i.e. IOSH

2 years + experience in safety management

Maintain CPD Programme.

Implementation and maintenance of safety management system

Effective negotiation skills

Good written and verbal communication skills

PC literate: Word, Excel and Power Point
