Close to ski fields, wine regions, hiking trails, rivers, and campgrounds, there is plenty to see and do. For over 40 years we have held operations at this site, producing transformers and kiosks to service a large domestic market. Based at our Manufacturing Plant in Benalla, we have Health, Safety and Environment Manager to join our high performing team. Reporting into the Plant Director you will be responsible for developing and promoting a culture of safety and well-being across the Benalla Manufacturing site through the creation of specific programs, policies and practices. Whilst providing operational support and advice to managers and staff, the Safety & Environment Manager, will also ensure compliance and adherence to current legislation and maintain necessary accreditations. The HSE Manager will be required to manage the Safety & Environment Advisors at the Manufacturing site at Benalla ensuring cohesive team work, delivery of specific programs, policies and practices, training and also relevant administrative activities. Key Responsibilities of Safety & Environment Manager: Develop, implement and monitor a HSE management strategy. Ensure the Benalla site is working in accordance with the SPS guidelines for HSE Develop and review policies and ensure work instructions cover all relevant safety aspects, which are compliant to relevant legislation. Ensure safety systems are effective through a regular auditing process Ensure plant and task risk assessments are scheduled and conducted with a system in place to monitor progress and control all identified risks. All plant to be made complaint with appropriate safety standards Develop and maintain safety training programs to ensure employees are adequately trained to perform their job duties safely. Review and update emergency response plans and ensure employees are aware of their roles and responsibilities during emergencies. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and changes in health and safety regulations to ensure compliance and recommend improvements The ideal candidate will have: Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent Experience in health and safety management, preferably in the electrical/electronic manufacturing industry. In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant regulations. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to identify and address safety concerns.
