Our client, an established Tier 1 contractor, requires an experienced Health & Safety Manager in Belfast area on a contract basis for 3-4 months for Refurbishment and Fit-out packages on Commercial buildings, some of which are currently occupied. As Health and Safety Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures that ensure a safe working environment for all employees, eliminating/minimising risks, preventing workplace accidents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.



Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive health and safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the organisation’s operations.

Ensure all safety policies comply with local, state, and federal regulations, and relevant standards.



*



Coordinate health and safety program elements addressing site access, security, project induction, first aid, welfare, and emergency arrangements.



*



Establish a process of active health and safety monitoring through audits and inspections of site conditions and contractor activities.



*



Monitor and report on health and safety performance and challenges using predefined leading and lagging health and safety performance indicators.



*



Develop and deliver health and safety training programs ensuring all personnel are aware of their health and safety responsibilities.



*



Ensure appropriate and effective emergency response, case management, incident investigation and reporting mechanisms are in place to facilitate learning from incidents (LFI).



*



Report to the Project Manager and work closely with department managers and supervisors to ensure that health and safety protocols are integrated into daily operations.



*



Attend meetings regularly & contribute to the best of your knowledge.

Degree/ qualifications in Health and Safety Management/NEBOSH.



*



Updated understanding of health and safety principles with proven technical skills in occupational safety and health disciplines.



*



5-7 years’ experience in H&S roles within construction/engineering preferably in Refurbishment and Fit-out packages.



*



Strong knowledge of updated health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.



*



Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.



*



Proficiency in H&S software & tools.
