These values include: Respect Teamwork Ownership Growth Mindset About the role As a Health and Safety Senior Associate, you will play a key role in creating a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for all employees. This position involves implementing and maintaining the Sistema de Gestión de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (SG-SST) as mandated by Colombian law. You will act as the primary point of contact for all health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing risks, and fostering a culture of safety across the organization. Responsibilities Implementation of SG-SST Develop, implement, and maintain the Sistema de Gestión de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (SG-SST) in accordance with Colombian regulations, including Resolución 0312 de 2019. Conduct regular evaluations of the SG-SST and ensure timely updates based on legal changes or company needs. Coordination with ARL Collaborate closely with the Aseguradora de Riesgos Laborales (ARL) to ensure proper implementation of safety programs. Coordinate ARL-provided trainings, workshops, and risk prevention programs for employees. Manage ARL evaluations and support the implementation of recommendations for risk mitigation. Risk Assessment and Prevention Identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and recommend preventive measures to mitigate them. Conduct periodic safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards. Training and Awareness Design and deliver health and safety training programs for employees. Organize and manage awareness campaigns on workplace safety, ergonomics, and occupational health, including activities in partnership with the ARL. Incident Management Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop corrective action plans. Maintain accurate records of incidents and report them to authorities and the ARL when required. Compliance and Reporting Ensure compliance with Colombian health and safety laws, including coordination with ARL representatives. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory authorities (e.g., MinTrabajo) and the ARL on time. Health and Wellness Programs Implement programs to promote employee well-being, such as mental health initiatives, ergonomic evaluations, and fitness programs. Coordinate health campaigns like medical check-ups in collaboration with ARL support. Emergency Preparedness Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols. Conduct drills (e.g., fire, earthquake) and ensure employees are trained to respond effectively. Continuous Improvement Analyze health and safety metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements. Stay updated on best practices, ARL resources, and changes in Colombian safety regulations. Requirements Professional degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. Specialization or certification in Occupational Health and Safety (Active license). Proficient conversational english level. 3–5 years of experience in health and safety roles in Colombia. Strong knowledge of Colombian safety regulations and laws (e.g., Resolución 0312 de 2019, Decreto 1072 de 2015). Experience coordinating activities with ARLs and managing their resources. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to conduct training and create engaging materials. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with health and safety management systems.
