Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead wastewater construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of heavy civil construction, including treatment plants, pump stations, and pipeline systems. This role requires expertise in managing large-scale, complex wastewater projects from preconstruction to closeout, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Oversee all phases of wastewater construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Ensure project milestones and deliverables are met while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor project teams, including engineers, superintendents, and field personnel.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure efficient project workflows.
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and forecast financial performance.
- Review and approve change orders, invoices, and subcontractor payments.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
- Provide regular progress updates and ensure alignment with client expectations.
- Risk Management & Problem Solving:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges proactively.
- Resolve technical, logistical, and contractual issues effectively and efficiently.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular inspections to maintain a secure work environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5Â years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on wastewater projects such as treatment plants, pump stations, and pipelines.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects exceeding $10 million in value.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, water treatment processes, and infrastructure construction.
- Familiarity with permitting processes, regulatory compliance, and environmental standards related to wastewater construction.
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6) and scheduling tools.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage contracts and subcontractor relationships effectively.
- Certifications:
- PMP Certification .
- OSHA 30 Certification required; First Aid/CPR Certification is a plus.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field . Equivalent experience will be considered.
