We are seeking a skilled Heavy Civil Superintendent with experience in FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) projects to oversee the day-to-day operations of large-scale infrastructure projects. This includes managing the construction of highways, bridges, and other civil works, ensuring that they meet all specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. Key Responsibilities:

• On-Site Leadership: Supervise all field operations for FDOT projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. Direct and manage subcontractors, crews, and suppliers.
• Project Scheduling & Coordination: Develop, maintain, and update project schedules. Coordinate logistics, manpower, and equipment to optimize work flow and avoid delays.
• Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to FDOT specifications and safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections and assessments to maintain the highest quality standards.
• Safety Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site to maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all team members comply with OSHA and FDOT guidelines.
• Problem Solving & Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any construction challenges or conflicts on-site, ensuring minimal impact to the project schedule or budget.
• Client and Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients, FDOT representatives, and project managers. Provide regular updates on progress, delays, and changes.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, work schedules, and safety reports. Ensure proper documentation of any project changes and deviations.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 3+ years as a Superintendent in heavy civil construction with a focus on FDOT projects (e.g., roadways, bridges, utilities).
• Knowledge & Skills: Strong knowledge of FDOT standards and specifications, construction safety, and heavy civil construction methods.
• Certifications: OSHA 30 certification required. FDOT prequalification or similar certifications are .
• Leadership: Proven experience managing teams and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and regulatory authorities.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, etc.) and scheduling tools (MS Project).
