We are working with a leading supplier of heavy equipment in the Mid-Atlantic region. They currently operate 10 locations and offer rental, sales, maintenance, and repair services for a wide range of heavy equipment used in excavation, crushing, lifting, hauling, and more. Their equipment includes track loaders, excavators, bulldozers, compactors, demolition equipment, gas/diesel engines, etc.





Responsibilities:





Repair heavy equipment in the field and in the shop.





Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions for electrical, engine, transmission, brakes, steering, frame, cab and hydraulic systems.





Be able to rebuild gas and diesel engines and major driveline components.





Inform customers on problems and costs required to repair unit/equipment.





Order parts necessary to repair unit and follow up with parts department on backorders.





Welding on equipment as needed.





Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, clutches, changes filters and oil.





Submit paperwork in a timely manner including daily notes, timecards, tech-line reports, expense reports and warranty parts.





Maintain service truck by filling out daily inspection reports.





Able to operate and use a variety of hand tools.





Able to read and understand manuals and schematics.





Ability to communicate with other mechanics about repair work.





Use repair management software to record maintenance records.





Working Environment:





Lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity necessary.





Ability to lift 70 lbs.





Ability to operate a forklift safely.





This position is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, and moderate noise levels.





This job requires the ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certification.





Requires working and driving outdoors in various climates/temperatures and the possibility of sitting for an extended period.





Requirements:





Must have a valid DL, clean motor vehicle record and be able to pass a drug screen, background check, functional capacity test and DOT physical.





High School diploma; Trade School (2-year degree)





Continuing education with verifiable credits from Manufacturer's technical schools or training programs





Must be able to successfully hold certifications for MSHA, First Aid/ CPR, etc.
