The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the scraper for road building and other projects.ResponsibilitiesOperates heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to relevant legislation, policies, procedures and work plansPerforms daily safety and maintenance checksCleans equipment as scheduled and/or requiredEnsures equipment is safely and securely storedAdvises Superintendent or maintenance department of any requirements for maintenance or repairParticipates in routine fueling and maintenancePractices workplace safetyMay operate other heavy equipment as requiredMay perform other related duties as requiredQualifications2+ years experience in heavy equipment operationExperience in a construction environment or in a similar role Familiar with construction terms and practicesEffective verbal and listening communication skillsAbility to understand and effectively execute verbal and written directionsAdheres to company Health, Safety, & Environmental reporting and standard assessmentsMust be a team playerMust possess a valid driver’s license
